The Sagrada Familia is now hanging in the balance after an influential group of intellectuals (inculding the director of Reina Sofia Art Musuem in Madrid). They say that the ideas of Antoni Gaudí who designed the masterpiece haven't been followed.When Gaudí died in 1926, some anarchists tried to destroy the plans during the Spanish Civil War.
